Help! Self esteem????
Hello, My name is LeanNaMae, I’m 13, 5′7” and i weight like 120 something.
Lately I have been trying to diet, and trying to exersize, but nothing works…
Okay, so I’m not going to lie- I’m a big girl. I have big bones and I’m tall, It’s the way I was born.
But all the girls I go to school with are TINY. With pretty abs and stuff…
And Lately, I have spent a lot of time…crying and such because I don’t feel good about myself…I feel ugly and fat.
…and lonely
Yes, boys talk to me… but… yeah
So can anyone tell me any good ways to start feeling better about myself, because I’m tired of throwing up what I eat and running and working my butt off… because I feel really sick and tired and I don’t know what to do!!
You are JUST FINE: your weight is proportional to your height, in fact even if you weigh 130, you’d be on the bottom half of what’s considered ‘normal’.
I think you aren’t judging yourself fairly: it’s called body dysmorphic disorder, and is the underlying issue in most eating disorders. I don’t think others see you the way you see yourself, I doubt any objective person thinks you are fat.
So STOP VOMITING right now. Eat right, work out enough to stay fit and healthy, and if you can’t talk yourself out of your negative self image, consider seeing a counselor– your school counselor or nurse would be a good place to start.
